Our playgroup curriculum follows the Indonesian Merdeka Belajar curriculum with Montessori approach. It is designed to provide a fun and interactive learning experience for preschool-aged children. The curriculum aims to nurture the overall development of young children. Including cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skills. Our key components include storytelling, arts and crafts. The goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment that fosters early learning and prepares children for more structured education in later years.
We designed our kindergarten curriculum to provide a comprehensive foundation for young children’s development in various areas, following our Merdeka Belajar curriculum with the key components as follow:
- Language and literacy: Focus on developing communication skills, vocabular, and early reading readiness.
- Mathematics: Introduction to basic math concepts such as counting, number recognition, simple addition and subtraction, and understanding shapes and patterns.
- Social emotional development: Emphasis on building social skills, cooperation, empathy, and self-regulation.
- Fine and gross motor skills: Activities to enhance both small muscle control (e.g., holding pencil, cutting) and large muscle development (e.g., running, jumping),
- Creative arts: Opportunities for artistic expression through drawing, painting, music, and other creative activities, fostering imagination and self-expression.
- Social studies: Introduction to concepts like family, community, and basic understanding of cultural diversity.
- Health and personal development: Promoting healthy habits, personal hygiene, and awareness of well-being.
- Assessment and feedback: Regular assessment through observation and informal evaluations to understand each child’s progress and tailor instruction.
